Arent those weak even with upgraded processor?
Proprietary Nvidia drivers?
Why did you have to do this?
Do you have any pointers on how i could solve this?
is there any good guildlines for newbies like me?
No?

here’s a fetch for curious ones
Proprietary Nvidia drivers?
Ideapads aren’t in the same league as Thinkpads, so that’s to be expected
Why did you have to do this?
I have an nvidia card.
When i boot the archiso i get 1920x1080x75hz even in tty, but when i boot from my ssd i don’t get it in tty nor in xorg.
If i try to startx i get a monitor floating message saying “input not supported”
I think i messed up.
Do you have any pointers on how i could solve this?
I reinstalled the xorg metapackage but it didn’t solve this

You could try moving any file under /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/ that contains monitor configuration (e.g. if you created something with nvidia-xconfig rather than just using the DE’s built-in monitor configuration tools).
Thx i’ll try thatπ
I’m a newbie arch user and I just wanted to ask about your preferences on different DEs out there
I’ve tried xfce , deepin , kde and recently installed cutefish (idk if you’ve heard of it)
so I’m looking forward for your wisdom and knowledge to help me out ! π
Thanks!

P.S. : I didn’t like deepin at all , beautiful but not really functional
also kde had some problems on it’s applications
so ….
thanks again!

Cinnamon is working good, also try some WMs, highly customisable and consume a little ram/cpu
I’ll give it a shot
Thanks!

Me too, KDE is great
And some other issues …
idk i actually liked how it looked
but some minor issues kept annoying me

i3 documentation is great and easy, the thing is you will need to remember hotkeys to use i3, you dont need to be a programmer or know any language to change the config for your needs

What issues?
I mean, it’s alright. Beats GNOME in my opinion these days, that used to be my go-to; I was tempted to try cutefish but then I heard it was EoL
A lot of useless stuff
Maybe …
i’ll give it a shot again then
