Is there any way to make it smaller?

A good way is to boot the live image of arch and check what works. If you are not comfortable to check via command line, you can boot any other distro that has GUI on live image. The support for hardware comes from the linux kernel which is used by most distros with minor variations.

That’s no reason that it’ll work on Arch. Processor is one thing. Hardware driver, firmware another. It can end up as non functional because the trackpad doesnt work correctly, or special keys are disabled and such stuff.
You should always go for Linux preinstalled systems if you know you want to run linux.
