well, they say android is based on linux
a normal user may think that they could run android programs on linux easier than windows but currently its the opposite.
lets look at what microsoft is doing currently, they tried integrating android to their operating system (which may have failed, or didn’t, i don’t know how its going) and they also integrated the linux shell into their OS. Lennart Poettering left to work on the linux side of windows. so i think maintaining such projects are essential for linux desktop
microsoft probably does not want to lose their marketshare so they will try their best. the Wine team and steam for Proton are doing great job for making windows programs and games to run on linux, if we could offer simpler methods for android programs to run on linux then it might give equal advantage for linux desktop. compatibility and ease are things that users would care the most when choosing to stay in their current environment or make the switch
anyhow, i think the rest of conversation could be done in the Guild group
i wanted to say if VM works well then i just nagged here, but nope

It loads waaay too long in a VM.
And no, I don’t run waydroid inside the VM, hahaha.
I used QEMU for other tasks such as debugging an app

Install it on a supported OS in a VM/container, not directly on Arch, you will have a better time

Guys, is there any way for the terminal to display progress and speed when copying files with the cp command? For instance, if I’m copying 500 GB from one storage to another, the terminal to display percent completed and speed of copying in MB/s?

Last time I used CentOS after miserably failing to set it up on Ubuntu.
So some decent CentOS sucessor or RHEL… Maybe Fedora?
Try and see.

This https://www.geeksforgeeks.org/rsync-command-in-linux-with-examples/ says rsync is for sending files between two machines but in my case both the source and the target storages are in the same machine. Will it work that way?

I never use cp unless it’s a dead simple operation, rsync is nicer

All storages have a few GB of space that you can’t use. For instance, my SSD may read it’s 120GB capacity but in reality it’s 112.
