Why you are soooo professional?
May it be something is wrong with MX series?
Are you using the Windows ESP for arch?
Well Windows was installed after Arch so everything should be quite generic?
Sorry, can I ask what do you use instead of grub?
Does the benchmark tells which card it’s using?
Well the problem is the os-prober which just doesn’t end probing, where should I start?
I’ve this installed before, is it enough?
Then switched to NVidia with optimus-manager, ran benchamrks like normal executable, then disabled optimus-manager service, cleared up Xorg configuration, rebooted and made sure prime-run glxinfo32 shows up NVidia proprietary things and ran benchmarks as prime-run ./bin. Compared the results, that’s it.
Why you are soooo professional? Just talk as ppl do.
Oh Yeah

This is very weird. Does the benchmark tells which card it’s using? Because I never saw 30% performance loss. You might loose a few FPS using prime render offload, but nothing like this.
Ubuntu has not too BUT you could remove the extra installed packages and other stuff
Ahaha, idk, maybe it is more readable for others and easier to understand my problem 😁
ok bro but just tALk laike mi
Yeah, it shows that NVidia was used, and I’ve also tested without prime-run just to feel the difference
I saw some performance loss with prime-run for some reason, usually only 15/20% (tested 6 months ago), but since then i’ve come to my senses and disabled the dgpu

Honestly no idea, only tested briefly when i bought the laptop to see what the nvidia hype was about.. not a fan so disabled it anyway
Oh i got it

I’m very confused how you worded this.. https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/GRUB#Detecting_other_operating_systems is this what you mean?
Exactly, os-prober seems to start as usual with Warning: os-prober will be executed to detect other bootable partitions.
Its output will be used to detect bootable binaries on them and create new boot entries.
But then – BOOM – just nothing happens
Are you using the Windows ESP for arch? Or a beautiful separate one.. haven’t used grub for a few years now but the wiki page says it has to be mounted to find it.. idk

Sorry, can I ask what do you use instead of grub? I would not mind to take something even better if such thing exist

Running Windows11/Arch with systemd-boot, a separate ESP for each OS to keep them apart, using the uefi boot menu to switch
Sorry, can I ask what do you use instead of grub? I would not mind to take something even better if such thing exist
I guess maybe you need to mount the windows ESP somewhere and run os-prober again, atleast that’s what it sounds like from the wiki
The thing is os-prober stopped doint its job even before windows installation

install gst-plugins-*
or just use whichever works
consider using a sandboxed wine like bottles & conty
or just use whichever works
I’ve this installed before, is it enough? there’s nothing change
