Everything seems fine , but it doesn’t seem to work at all . Any ideas?

It won’t change until you log out and log back in because your desktop session is still using the old value

Hello, I have just installed arch with gnome and I have a problem with icons, all preinstalled gnome apps have icons, but all other apps I have installed(Firefox, gnome-tweaks) haven’t icons in app menu
So anyone have any ideas how to fix this?

I shared it because it mentions a library that I couldn’t see in your screenshots. And, the lib for both Arch & Debian are mentioned. Secondly, your error clearly says that the stream format in issue is avc. So, I’m not sure how that is irrelevant. Anyway, good luck.
Mind on it again, I say I could play the other programs kinda ffplay without problem, no it’s not, they’ve problem with Ubuntu so it can’t be relevant that I couldn’t see something that solved for my Arch machine

I honestly didn’t search for. I’ve came here after reading this reddit post.
There’s this cosmic-comp-git but I donno other stuff so asking about it.
There’s this request post too. But it doesn’t go anywhere from there.

If it’s not packaged, you can do it yourself
C0rn3j 2022-07-17 11:32:15
Does it even exist? It doesn’t seem to be released.
PuzzDio 2022-07-17 11:38:25
I will how long it’ll last, since it seems is existence well be intrinsically locked to the Ubuntu sub-distro, and there’s enough of those already

it’s a -git package so the source code isn’t from stable releases

Where do you think “stable” releases come from?

usually dev will give it a tag or push release file in releases page

Yes, it also comes from git, usually. So what defines a “stable” release is the maintainer. But your -git package might be just as stable as a release, it all depends to the commit it points to.

yes, some aur package maintainer do that

Usually -git packages don’t have a fixed commit, they always build from master. But my point is, is that the -git package might be building from a “stable” release, if the last commit on master is the same as the last tagged release, for example.

Not in front of my computer, but iirc, there’s a section on the wiki explaining how to chain load the windows boot loader. The process is the same

Perhaps if you explain it a little better

There’s nothing to do something like that, that I’m aware of. Mostly because encryption solves that problem in a much better way. If you are worried about sharing a computer with others, my suggestion to you is to install your applications inside your home folder, not the whole system. Other users don’t have access to your home folder. You can also use systemd-homed to encrypt just your home folder.
