I installed awesome wm via the archinstall script today and everytime I login through the tty1 how can I log directly into awesome wm without executing startx everytime?

On the arch wiki, it says that they support Wayland

yes they can start a wayland session, but runs in xorg in the begining

I tried the default configuration for sway and tried modifying it according to the documentation. Didn’t work. Tried some third party configurations from some 3rd party guides as well and even that did not work.

Forget the DM for a while. Can you start the Wayland compositor from the tty directly?

Do you have another machine that you can use to try and access via ssh? Also, i suggest you enable sysrq keys, at least you could try to use it to recover from that situation

The best way to install an application is pacman -Syu <app> even if you’re not updating system. That’s how always the arch has been for me.

just install any DM and enable it: lightdm (with lightdm-gtk-greeter or lightdm-slick-greeter), sddm or gdm will do. gdm brings half of Gnome with itself, be aware of that
