Wait, you were not talking about transfer speed, but about network interface setup time?

You don’t even need a manager
grazzolini 2022-07-22 23:29:01
You could even have static
alexandarzaric 2022-07-22 23:29:02
also i found out that wpa supplicant with network manager needs mutch more time to connect than iwd

I could try that systemd-networkd since it’s a systemd thing anyway

ufoludek 2022-07-22 23:32:01
I’ll also disable the wi-fi card in the bios
ufoludek 2022-07-22 23:32:11
Just in case

At least much faster than networkmanager
ufoludek 2022-07-22 23:42:56
It’s still not instant though
ufoludek 2022-07-22 23:44:50
I can login and the internet still needs to connect, it’s not as slow as with nm but still
ufoludek 2022-07-22 23:45:08
Although this only happens if I reboot and login as soon as the login prompt appears
ufoludek 2022-07-22 23:45:34
If I wait some seconds before typing my password it connects before I login

Strangely the networkd wait online service never starts even though it is enabled
ufoludek 2022-07-22 23:47:42
It never “waits until it’s online” it just logs in and there it is

Yes

I thought this was about transfer speed all this time. Systemd-networkd is as fast as you can get I think

is there tool to test if a hdd is normal or failing
alexandarzaric 2022-07-23 02:34:49
in my case best configuration for wifi is netorkmanager with iwd backend, using systemd-networkd and systemd-resolved. it always connects instantly on startup or from sleep

Check SMART, if it looks okay run badblocks to verify

yes, by default you need to press alt fn prtscr
unless you change the fn-lock

Yes. A activated it in systcl but without reboot. And i see nothing in console (i swtich to Alt Ctrl F2, login, and press Fn Alt PrtSc 8, Fn Alt PrtSc h)
I think, Fn Alt PrtSc == Sysrq button, but i should add Alt button for magic commands. And i don’t know hot press it, because Alt is already pressed?))))

The easiest way is to run dmesg -w and try to use S (sync)

It won’t just overflow into tty I believe
