Appimages don’t run on linux-hardened? I got Obsidian-0.15.6 and freetube_0.16.0_amd64, and they are dumping cores.

Gray is better) Because you just work on it, but not always cleaning it for fingerprints))

That’s a message from 2020

And they run on normal kernel?

I use these appimages everyday

somehow session-desktop-linux-x86_64-1.8.6 is running on hardened
romelsalwi 2022-07-23 11:16:23
Hmm, even electrum-4.2.2-x86_64 is working fine

I’m understood) https://www.reddit.com/r/TVDetails/comments/is4ou1/the_binary_message_from_season_5_of_silicon/ – that message for me))

Interestingly, I installed the AUR of freetube https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/freetube-bin. Even it is crashing.
romelsalwi 2022-07-23 11:30:53
I think it has something to do with Electron. I personally despise Electron and that’s why I was using the appImages.
bacteriostat 2022-07-23 11:32:25
Freetube works for me.

Did you check the electron versions of the apps that are crashing?

That’s because you are meant to delete your htoprc and reapply your overrides on every htop update
This is insane.

If it doesn’t spell “Arch Linux”, it is not provided by Arch.

soorajsprakash 2022-07-23 12:49:34
anyone using pycharm/intelllij/android studio (basically all same) in arch?

Markdown preview is not working, upon research it says to use JDK bundled with pycharm. but im using the one bundled with.

Is it recommend to have /home on a different partition?

ArchWiki:
“Separating out /home allows / to be re-partitioned separately, but note that you can still reinstall Arch with /home untouched even if it is not separate—the other top-level directories just need to be removed, and then pacstrap can be run.”

cubementore 2022-07-23 13:04:07
depends on your drive

Depends on your requirements

cubementore 2022-07-23 13:04:37
if you have a drive smaller than like 500 GB, it’s better to have / and /home at one partition
ShiningPone 💗💛💙 🐴 2022-07-23 13:04:56
You can have /home on a NFS export

It is 500 GB.

cubementore 2022-07-23 13:06:04
then it all depends on your requirements

do you plan on distro hopping in near future?

No, just wondering about having /home on a different partition as an assurance in case something goes wrong and I have to reinstall

Seّyed 2022-07-23 13:08:47
No plan for distro hopping
cubementore 2022-07-23 13:09:15
if you dont sudo rm -rf /*, your /home will not be lost and in the worst case you can always copy it from the broken install
cubementore 2022-07-23 13:09:33
or remove everything except /home from the root partition and pacstrap again
