No. If you want to install Arch Linux, use the official install guide or archinstall

@ariefr ?
MasterDevX2022-07-27 09:58:18
Archinstall is really cool thing, it saves some time. But I still recommend to try installing arch manually at least once to know how the things work (especially arch-chroot, it is very useful when your OS breaks and you can’t boot into it)

pipewire, helvum…i dont think they are ready for use at all. in my experience, everything firefox output a sound (be it fr ads or pop up) it creates a node for that sound (after sound is over) it closes the node (thats not a problem), but when i enter jitsi meet or disconnected fr jitsi, i hav to re route the audio to proper device. to make it worst, there are almost a dozen of node for obs, for pulse audio (if you decided to control the audio volume via pulse audio), cant remember if there are several nodes for firefox as well.. so everytime when i shut down and restart those app, i will hav to dig thru all those dozen of nodes to find the right 1 to route the audio to.
when the nodes get too many (mostly idle nodes), it is getting hard to locate the right node among so many nodes.. they became so tiny, i hav to zoom in an pan around to locate the one that needed.. what a pain

Just make sure you direct all questions about your installation under that video’s comment section afterwards.

Why are you recommending a video, instead of the documentation?

Why are you recommending a video, instead of the documentation?
Because videos are easily fixed when the setup changes and everyone can contribute adding changes. Much easier than editing text, perhaps.

On a side note, I want to know what level of cocaine you’re on.
A video is a solid block of data that needs to be recreated and reuploaded as a whole and cannot be edited in part.
Documentation, on a wiki especially, its much easier to contribute to and edit.

Level of cocaine: trying to see if people can spot irony.

But, it’s the internet. And you @PuzzDio fell for it. 🙂

I had viewed these 2 videos yesterday only. So recollected them in memory easily and shared them here.

Not really. Videos lacks intrinsics. There’s no easy way to collect the amount of possible edge cases, and the wiki is always preferred.
sammy_v2022-07-27 11:52:38
I personally use wiki, user forums and videos for learning Linux.
tomazcanabrava2022-07-27 11:53:07
Just as a good reminder, the vast majority of errors from newcomers are “I was following this tutorial/vídeo and arch won’t boot”

Possible.
tomazcanabrava2022-07-27 11:53:54
The problem is then “ok, but what did you do on this command?”, and the answer is usually “I don’t know, copy pasted something but I can’t remember”
tomazcanabrava2022-07-27 11:54:06
And we can’t help anymore because there’s no info.
sammy_v2022-07-27 11:54:22
Ok i will not share video help.
sammy_v2022-07-27 11:54:34
Sorry.
tomazcanabrava2022-07-27 11:54:47
If the user follows the wiki, that contains all the explanations and subcomands, even if the user doesn’t remember he can point it to us where the problem was .
tomazcanabrava2022-07-27 11:55:14
And of course, sometimes the installation procedure changes and a specific part of the wiki is outdated, this helps us fix that too
