Yep, I am using my VPS as a box to host my VPN on it
bettehem 2022-07-30 08:45:51
Oh, now I get it
bettehem 2022-07-30 08:49:02
Maybe mention that first next time😄
But yeah, maybe your vps provider isn’t best suited for use as a vpn if they just randomly shut down your system. If you want a decent VPN, check out something like MullvadVPN

I’ll selfhost the VPN either way, so I’ll probably go with another VPS provider next time, but I need a duct tape fix for the time being
twrsch 2022-07-30 08:50:28
So, yet again — how do you limit CPU for wireguard?

You might not be able to. Apparently something like OpenVPN is easier on your cpu, but it’s slower than wireguard
twrsch 2022-07-30 09:01:08
Well, there’s an option to move to boringtun (that works in userspace), but my webgui only supports regular wireguard for the time being
bettehem 2022-07-30 09:01:44
Ok🤔
bettehem 2022-07-30 09:05:20
This seems like its more of a problem at your vps provider’s end than with your setup, and the best solution for that is to switch providers, or reach out to your current one and ask them not to randomly turn off your system😅 or then use something lighter than wireguard for the time being
ariefr 2022-07-30 10:24:00

I agree, but it is how it is
> and ask them not to randomly turn off your system
You know how it goes, they’ll just instantly reply «get a more expensive plan and we’ll do»
> then use something lighter than wireguard for the time being
Not an option, other VPN protocols burn through the battery like hell

Why my volume level resets to 75% each time there is a notification?
I also set flat-volumes = no in /etc/pulse/daemon.conf, but it doesn’t make a difference.
I’m using KMix
