you only need one line, one working mirror.
Ok 👍

Sounds like you just introduced a new one by not using the kernel driver.

Does arch linux upload new ISO on 1st of every month?
After you install you won’t notice any difference, the installation media to use is poorly relevant

it’s for already up-to-date packages, being a rolling… you don’t need to use the most recent ISO, I have one in my Ventoy USB in my keychain that I don’t upgrade since what? 6 months? no biggie
bryanpedini 2022-08-01 21:46:03
just make sure that archlinux-keyring is up-to-date enough
bryanpedini 2022-08-01 21:47:19
otherwise you’re gonna have a bad time upgrading a package that contains the list of the trusted GPG keys that can sign packages, being packaged by a GPG key that’s not on your current list
bryanpedini 2022-08-01 21:48:27
(of course there are ways to do it manually by forcing the package you know you downloaded from a reputable and official source and then upgrading it via pacman later, but it’s a rabbithole you don’t want to descend into, trust me, ask me how I know 😅)

Actually also the latest iso has a keyring issue, since the first boot

I’ll press F to pay respect to the dev that has to deal with that nightmare of a circle dependency
il_muflone 2022-08-01 21:50:11
It’s only a newer signature, than the archlinux-keyring in the July iso
bryanpedini 2022-08-01 21:50:41
well I did also say updated enough, not totally 100% up to date 😅

Because using X as root is a bad idea
