ah ya.. i guess i need to read the https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Arch_User_Repository .. it is so wordy.. i find long text reading hard to digest. will have to do then.
Sorry to hear that, but it’s simply the fastest and least disruptive way to get the information yourself

ArticOcean 2022-08-02 02:44:11
OK.
question2:
someone told me instead of build the app from source code fr github , which one have to constantly rebuild when arch upgraded… he told me to use helper to manage the rebuild … What does that mean and works ?
How will you know the software author has released a new version?

I think the issue is not that.. It is the problem with arch update or upgrade.. that causes the program to fail to run.
ArticOcean 2022-08-02 02:46:25
hence need rebuild

So you don’t update your softwares?

If it runs well, i won’t.. but usually it is arch that upgrade and hence the program failed to work

Whatever you do, softwares requires updates, for having newer versions or to make it working with the other changes the OS had

Yes, that’s the point… “to make it working with the other changes the OS had”
ArticOcean 2022-08-02 02:50:10
so, each time rolling update occurs.. the package failed.. hence need to rebuild manually.. since it does not auto
il_muflone 2022-08-02 02:50:12
You can rebuild anything by hand, by downloading the build instructions from AUR and build them all using makepkg (or similar)
Or you can use an automated tool which tracks updates and allow you to build the packages with one command

Not EACH time
You have to REBUILD when a library changed its ABI
il_muflone 2022-08-02 02:51:13
It may and it will happen

I guess this is what the person was telling me: πOr you can use an automated tool which tracks updates and allow you to build the packages with one command
but i have no idea .. can your roughly brief me.. so i know where to search and read more when i needed it
