Right. Should I delete this question and post it in offtopic?

No need, but next time you know where to ask 👍.

Maybe https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/enhancer-for-youtube/

https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/youtube-addon/ is proper open source and way nicer IMHO 🙂
Edit: yeah offtopic, apologies

looking for conflicting packages…
error: failed to prepare transaction (could not satisfy dependencies)
:: installing electron (20.0.0-1) breaks dependency ‘electron19’ required by element-desktop

Well technically you can audit any Add-on’s source code.

Wait a bit or switch mirrors and try again a full system upgrade

KDE Plasma sometimes after restart/updates resets back to default wallpaper and rearranges desktop icons by itself.
Has anyone encountered this?

The closest thing on ArchWiki is “Plasma desktop behaves strangely” which is related to widgets.

Used to happen when I was using X, haven’t encountered ever since I switched to Wayland.

It’s a pacman bug

No, this is a recurrent pacman issue. If an update removes a required provider for a dependency, it doesn’t search for other providers and simply fails

yeah so i got myself a bluetooth dongle (its verbose from lsusb -v: https://termbin.com/c5me ), and it does not work. is it the dongle’s fault or do i need some additional drivers? my old dongle worked fine but it snapped in half during a trip.

CSR are famous for being faken

cubementore 2022-08-05 11:27:11
its not like i need an original dongle, i just need a working one 😀
cubementore 2022-08-05 11:27:24
and this is yet to look like one
cubementore 2022-08-05 14:40:27
ok
cubementore 2022-08-05 14:40:51
this idiot works, but ONLY under windows. it looks like i need some kind of driver for it in arch
ariefr 2022-08-05 14:41:46
Original CSR supported since kernel 2.6
cubementore 2022-08-05 14:42:40
this is a cheap adapter that claims to do csr 4.0, but even if it does not, it should still be able to… work as a bluetooth adapter?
cubementore 2022-08-05 14:43:32
like, windows right now screams at me that there is something wrong with its driver, but i can still use my headset
cubementore 2022-08-05 14:45:29
i dont care about the CSR part, whatever it is, i just need a working bluetooth dongle in my arch installation for listening to music over bt headset and using phone’s internet connection over Bluetooth

AFAIK dig resolves hosts from DNS only

then what is the purpose of custom entries in /etc/hosts file?

To query the hosts file you should:
getent hosts <hostname>

grazzolini 2022-08-05 17:41:21
welll, technically that will also query for nameserver hosts, but usually your hosts file comes before external DNS in resolution order
