Then if I do sudo pacman -s linux , it will install this version. As it is I think latest kernel version

what about this ?

Why think? Check what’s available against kernel.org

Could you elaborate on what you find unclear?

Being flagged doesn’t mean you shouldn’t install it

Ohh @C0rn3j I didn’t read this properly . Got it now !

Moreover I having some problems …
1. Some times networkmanager stops working even though systemctl status shows it is enabled and running . If I do restart then prompts gets hang at systemctl restart
2.Any sudo requiring command gets hang
3. Laptop doesn’t suspend even when I have closed lid or try to suspend through cli
4. It even doesn’t shutdown , it just gets stuck at stop job running for networkmanager , wpa_supplicant . Or something like it waits for closing of user session .

In the end I have to press and hold my laptop power button and restart.

I have googled a lot but nothing has helped . I think may be the culprit this Linux version.

Any help on these issues ?

First of all , all these issues are related, I started having networkmanager issues so I try sudo systemctl restart NetworkManager , it gets hanged there by hang I mean , (I think better word would be stuck )It doesn’t ask for password , does nothing , even ctrl-c , ctrl-d ctrl-z do nothing . All I have is a prompt with text “sudo systemctl restart”.

Then I try suspending or shutdown laptop , in case of suspend it does not suspend screen is on whole time and if I shutdown , I have just that waiting of systemd and it starts increasing waiting time from 90 seconds to more seconds as long as I don’t force fully shutdown by pressing power button

..

And all these issues looks to me software issue ,as I have windows in dual boot on different disk , and I don’t experience any weird issues on it . The disk on which arch is , that disk too is brand new .

Those sound more hardware-related, e.g. bad RAM

Disable sddm and see if you can startx/boot into wayland normally without it.

I feel like since they added archinstall arch users are becoming more and more “stupid”
ufoludek 2022-08-06 19:18:37
I know it might sound harsh but I don’t know any more gentle word for “stupid”
ufoludek 2022-08-06 19:18:53
So pardon me if anyone got offended
PuzzDio 2022-08-06 19:19:05
It couldnt possibly be the draw for newer people to the OS or anything /s

I mean, it’s not a bad tool. It cuts down install time. Although last time I tried it it was missing some things live LVM etc.

PuzzDio 2022-08-06 19:21:02
Well when i toyed with it on VM a few days ago it seemed to do encrypted LVM with btrfs on its own just fine

I tried it only twice when they firstly added it

Through seeing the sheer different between Feb archinstall and July archinstall was fun, its so different.
