yeah, Gentoo is too difficult for me to use, so i am using archlinux
Similarly Arch wiki might be too difficult for someone that is why that person is asking for help.

So you asked first, looked later.. probably would of been quicker the other way round in this situation
No, if someone already know something and is ready to tell then that is much faster. Reading what is rm and then what is recursive and then trying rm -r abd to remove some folder is much more time taking as compared to someone telling me to just type rm -r abc

Absolutely right. That is why I am not telling other person to change. He should not help if he doesn’t want. Perfectly fine and full respect for his choice of behaviour but one should not make a personal comment on a member of group that he/she is lazy.

What conflicts?
Pipewire conflicts and PGP keys being corrupted. But I continued the installation manually, found that much better.

How much time you needed to “know very well” the installation process?

Any ideas where to get mpeg4-aac codec for Arch? The repos have nothing about that codec.
valsodar 2022-08-16 15:27:38
Ubuntu has a package named “restricted extras” but I seriously doubt it would work in Arch.

To listen to an online radio. Without that codec it buffers between 30 and 60 seconds before connecting to the radio.

Thats not how codecs work. It shouldnt be able to play the stream without the ability to decode the data. Buffering usually happens on the player side. Whats your player?
valsodar 2022-08-16 15:38:13
Audacious. But it happens only to this particular radio. Every other radio works instantly. But only this radio uses mpeg4-aac codec, the others use the standard LC/HE-AAC. I know it for a fact bc I talked to their support teams.
valsodar 2022-08-16 15:40:03
After installing this package (gst-plugins-base) it connects a little faster, though it still buffers, just not that long as it used to before this package.

🤔 is that radio station maybe part of https://www.radio-browser.info/ so you could use shortwave to play it and skip the audio player dependency that could be a problem to something optimized for online radio?
valsodar 2022-08-16 15:53:46
It’s not, it’s local for my country only. I don’t wanna use browsers or additional players. I’ve made equalizer settings for Audacious that are hard, if not impossible, to recreate for other players.

So, you posted a video that has nothing to do with Arch (and is completely wrong). Nobody seemed to care much for it and now you reply to your own video with this?

Yeah, and Arch is based on Endeavour OS apparently.
ghostinthewire 2022-08-16 16:08:40
it works fine with default settings but breaks when used with manual Partition
