Teams –quit?

IDK, didn’t create it myself

Does your bashrc or zshrc have any special configuration? Like idk, some extra path setting

yeah I include ~/bin

Oh, I’m reading the wrong line

Try putting the whole path to the teams executable in the Exec line

nope, not even the entire /home/bryanpedini/bin/teams

AndreGhd 2022-08-16 20:34:27
For example, /home/joshua/bin/teams

I should change my prompt to joshua@wopr, yes 😂

bryanpedini 2022-08-16 20:35:34
anyway, .bashrc if you want it full
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 20:35:54
those plus export EDITOR=nano are the only and all the customizations
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 20:36:17
I keep a somewhat modular approach to literally everything

I don’t know why adding the whole path to the Exec line doesn’t work honestly

teams.desktop

Hm OK so try to look at the log of your desktop session if there is something wonky. Like for example
journalctl -b | grep ‘teams.desktop’

Ignore that one for now. Thats an autostart entry

Maybe your session isnt using the journal to log things. look at what it uses

IIRC Plasma by KDE uses journalctl

bryanpedini 2022-08-16 20:43:36
(also, IDK how to check which *thing* the desktop session uses, so there’s also that 😅)

Can you run the teams thing with the full filepath?

hi all (e buon Ferragosto)

any clue why Microsoft Teams launched by $ teams or by $ ~/bin/teams (Teams under Ubuntu Docker inside Arch Linux) works, but when launching it via the .desktop file from the application launcher I only hear a “du ta tam” and nothing else happens?

launch in the ‘dum ta tam’ mode and check the used command line from ps

I meant like the sound it does

bryanpedini 2022-08-16 22:47:32
that’s the only thing that happens when launching Teams via .desktop, a little weird sound and nothing more
il_muflone 2022-08-16 22:54:30
I don’t care about the sound 🤕
