il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:22:09

bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:22:23
the command that resides in ~/bin is called “teams”
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:22:33
the command that executes inside the container is called “teams”
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:22:35
but it’s not used
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:22:43
the container image AND the container name, are called “teams”
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:22:53
daffu**? 🤷♂️
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:24:58

bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:25:17
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:24:58
add a log in the ~/bin/teams file
to see if at least *that* is being called?
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:25:48
yep
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:27:16

nope
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:27:26
doesn’t even get called
(I still have the full path set up from the tries before)
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:28:02
what’s into the ~/bin/teams file?
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:28:51

bin/teams
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:29:12
x11docker for the teams-in-docker image
nothing fancy…
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:29:44
is the ~/teams.log file empty?
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:30:01

is the ~/teams.log file empty?
when launching from the .desktop file? yes
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:30:23

PS: launching from here works fine since IIRC this is a real shell in background
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:30:34
what’s in your desktop file now?
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:31:27
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:30:34

haven’t changed from before, the same link from above is still valid, only difference in the first section (desktop entry, not the quit action) Exec equals /home/bryanpedini/bin/teams %U instead of just teams %U
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:32:31
is the teams file executable?
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:32:44

wouldn’t have been able to execute it from here if it wasnt

you don’t like customization then 😜
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:33:31
I’ve 30 extensions in my DE..
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:33:33
(or you’re very hardcore in Gnome, your pick. not my style, I want the customization, but easy 😅)

Gnome, like suspected 😅
NGL if you use it for like 12y you become savvy enough and it’s perfect, I just always felt welcomed by Plasma and its simplicity (and sometimes its bugs 😂)

hi all (e buon Ferragosto)
any clue why Microsoft Teams launched by $ teams or by $ ~/bin/teams (Teams under Ubuntu Docker inside Arch Linux) works, but when launching it via the .desktop file from the application launcher I only hear a “du ta tam” and nothing else happens?
read the Exec= line
il_muflone 2022-08-16 23:37:00
here works fine
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:37:05
I’ve just ran ./install.sh and only customized it by adding the Pictures path for drag-and-drop of images and tagging my version
bryanpedini 2022-08-16 23:37:21
pontaoski 2022-08-16 23:36:59
read the Exec= line
posted a link to the .desktop shortly after
pontaoski 2022-08-16 23:37:23
