Am I the only one who has trouble whose KDE Partition Manager just does not load after giving the PolKit dialog the password?

I created cron file with crontab -e command and new cron appears in /var/spool/cron directory. I expected it should be in /etc/cron.d. Is it correct?

You might need to switch mirrors to a working one and delete your current db as it’s faulty and pacman might be unable to deal with it on its own.

Seems fine now. I suspect the file only got deleted when I accidentally re-installed community/sx instead of my custom/sx. Placed custom repository above community in /etc/pacman.conf to avoid this happening in the future.

This is called partial upgrade

il_muflone 2022-08-23 09:50:43

Why ??

Because the package manager (any) has nothing to do with your user

Because the files into your home will happen to be edited by you

Because your user will not always remain with the same uid

At least never upload that monstrosity in the aur or it will be deleted

I’m talking about a 2010 laptop! 😅
Simon 2022-08-23 13:58:49
that will be fine with Arch, one of my machines is older/lower spec
Schmiede_Eisenbart 2022-08-23 14:01:26

A 2007 core duo yea, 2010 Mac has a core 2 duo, which is 64-bit

Intel Core is 32-bit; Intel Core 2 is 64-bit.
jonathn 2022-08-23 14:43:56
FrozenCat Core Duo most definitely is 32-bit. Core 2 Duo is 64-bit.

When I boot-up my pc, the tty fonts are huge until I press any key for entering username, then it goes back to normal size. Is this some issue?

You won’t be able to download arch on 32 bit processors, look at https://archlinux32.org/ if you want to

Moshe Rabbenu 2022-08-23 15:04:17
Ok thank you all
jonathn 2022-08-23 15:54:34
Given you have 8GB RAM is very likely you have a Core 2 Duo (in addition to what Alyx wrote), so plain Arch will be fine.
