You seem to be under the impression I haven’t used tiling, muppet. i3 has broken my config about 5 times. Plasma has broken once. And that breakage wasn’t even a failure to operate, it was a change of the way it was set out to look. Assuming I don’t check updates is pretty bloody dense, but I’m sure your experience outweighs the experience of someone who has used the same software but had a worse run of it. But, by all means, continue assuming that others haven’t had experience with the kit. Just makes you look like a bit of a tool, mate.
Has your config broken i3 or has i3 broken your config?

They are being dicks, but they are kinda right, wm’s break less often if at all compared to full blwon DEs, not to mention if you’ve added your own customization to them(themes etc). If it’s hard for you to customize your wm just use someone’s else config.
Don’t use someone else’s config. Read the official user guide

some wm’s don’t have one like dwm. just do whatever gets your job done, using someone else’s config shows you the potential of what the wm can be

That is true. But even in a case like that, I would recommend against copying someone else’s config. I mean you can use it as an example when making your own, but don’t just blindly copy it

Not hard to do. Just time consuming, and adjusting to be in line with documentation lead to it falling apart. In my experience, Gnome has broken things often, i3 broke less than Gnome. Plasma has only changed in a way that was tedious once, and broken to the point of being nonfunctional when I was screwing around in a way that would have killed anything I was using. So I’m happy for folk to say it’s better, but that does come down to user experience, and my experience of trying to maintain it in line with documentation lead to issues, less than gnome, but more than Plasma. Whether it be for it being out of date, or it changing, still down to the product having a fault for not lining up with documentation, or changing.

Haven’t used i3 that much, nor plasma, I usually recommend qtile if you are just starting out and know python, then dwm. There are other cool options too
bettehem 2022-08-28 13:32:13
I have never had i3 break unless I actually made some bad configurations myself. I set it up using the official user guide and my same config has been working for years without issue

Arch is not so hard to install, read the wiki and you will learn some basic concepts about Linux. If you want something easier, just install an user friendly distro

there has an archinstall that is so easy to install, all you got to do is just to follow the reading on the archinstall page, and then you’re safe.
