Never worked for me πŸ˜‚

depending on how you do, and if your computer is EFI or BIOS, should be working so far

yep….

Then you didn’t install Arch and will receive no support for your installation in this group.

It gave me errors related to Python πŸ€·β€β™‚οΈ
It doesn’t matter anyway

i am sure that now is fixed because each every new ISO that comes out monthly, has a new update, which i am sure that can be your issue here

rennnehzinha 2022-08-28 19:46:00
but, as @C0rn3j said, if you did install arch in a different way, there is no way we can help you out here, sorry

He wasn’t talking to me, I’ve installed Arch without archinstall and it was fine, didn’t ask for help πŸ˜…

hello everyone, I’m on a tough quest for help.
need to disable font smoothing system wide, does anyone know how to do that?
I’ve been confused for 4 hours already, I found a solution, but I don’t have a directory like there, no config, nothing at all.

You mean font anti aliasing?

Fix your DNS. Also, there was some instability reaching Arch servers today from certain regions of the world, I’d try more sites too, before assuming that just pinging one that didn’t work is your whole problem. But in your case, your DNS settings are broken
C0rn3j 2022-08-28 21:16:00
You have no IP
grazzolini 2022-08-28 21:19:02
As Martin stated, you have no IP address.

I know … I installed it …. πŸ˜’πŸ˜’. Didn’t have the time … SO i experimented it…using EOS iso

I don’t understand the point of doing this. If you want an “easy install” then why not just use it as EndeavourOS rather than pretending it’s Arch? There’s plenty of support available for EndeavourOS and you don’t have to be dishonest about it.

So basically, if I don’t run grub-mkconfig, it will be fine?

Or, you can run both grub-install and grub-mkconfig and be even finer.

Any update on this removed “copy to ram” feature that was dropped from the arch iso when the grub switch happened?
Still haven’t been able to find a clear changelog or any reasoning for why this was removed.
Maybe I haven’t looked hard enough, but it’s a pretty big thing and am very sad to see it go.. but nothing a custom iso won’t fix..
Rob 2022-08-28 22:01:12
Maybe I’m blind but really can’t find any mention of this, besides the source code.. just seems strange for such a big feature to be “silently” dropped

Thanks didn’t see that, but have more than enough ram and it’s still using the flash drive on my machines.. have gone back to a custom iso with systemd-boot for now

Will look deeper and report a bug if needed

Seems like something that the user should be able to force enable to make sure it’s working before pulling the USB stick archiso is booted from… 😁

Imo yes, but with a very slow usb stick it’s pretty easy to see when it’s working without checking anything, 30s+ copy to ram lol
