how often arch iso for bootable usb should be updated?
update it with every months’s iso file?
bootable usb is used for chroot purpose
Not at all just for chroot, but having an up to date one may save you trouble if you actually need to use it to install Arch

Can’t we update that particular package if persistent storage is enabled in the USB?

You can even if not.
But better having an up to date medium

Is there any way to update only the modified contents of the bootable medium instead of downloading the whole ISO every time?

make your own anytime you like https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Archiso

It’s a good idea to have a pacman hook to update grub on your device. grub-mkconfig already is automatically ran. I had that since I needed to sign the grub EFI stub due to secure boot. I don’t use grub anymore, but I wouldn’t have been affected by this issue, due to that. If I recall correctly, there’s an example of said hook on grub’s wiki page.
Okay your suggestion would be: I could write a pacman hook which call grub-install/grub-mkconfig after each update?

Hi, I tried to connect to the Internet via Android’s USB Tethering with Samsung Galaxy A13 but it is stuck in Getting IP configuration
I mean the output of ($ nmcli dev con) command
Other smart phones are Okay. So how to solve this issue ?
Read many threads in the forum of archlinux and couldn’t find any solution…

We cannot predict the future
My question was about, did I have to run this cmds now after each grub update, because of the new changes of grub (supported flag,…)
That we can not prevent such phenenomen through future changes is absolutly clear.

I used timeshift-autosnap with grub-btrfs and what apparently happened is that grub got used, but not (re)-installed. This other person used the same tools and got the same effect.
I use grub-btrfs and snapper.

It’s been 3 years .-.

Imo, it’s related to QT. Unless the qt devs fix that or someone can patch that libs, nothing can be done about it directly.

grub-mkconfig is already called by default
