What FW version are you on and what is available on manufacturer’s website?
Hey, I am planning on installing arch on my laptop I am seeing these errors in journalctl(but everything else seems to be alright), I just wonder if it might cause issues later when installing?
Is this actually spammed or only on boot?
Is it worth the effort?

Startup finished in 2.068s (firmware) + 30ms (loader) + 1.425s (kernel) + 905ms (userspace) = 4.430s
graphical.target reached after 905ms in userspace.
cold boot in nearly 5 seconds
never though efistub could be this effective
Both 3.15. I have a honor laptop if it matters

Hello! Thank you for suggestion but i dunno what to do with env
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Environment_variables then i guess it’s time to learn 😉

I saw it for a brief second on when booting from usb stick and then I just dropped into shell like no issues. They are not being constantly spammed into journal
I would ignore them then if you don’t notice any issue

Just try to install first

useless rubbish
if you have issues and you’re unable to solve them, use whatever you find more simple for you

I don’t understand why this community is so arrogant, when it comes to helping people
or I hope you won’t think all the people have broken installations

you didn’t asked for help, now

you asked if it worths the effort
Why did it warrant the comment useless rubbish

because asking people using Arch Linux if it worth to set up Arch, is useless rubbish, a topic going nowhere, something absurd and not related to Arch but to your issues

Issues related to arch. Seeking opinion is not wrong or to reflect on one’s experience is not incorrect either
I had a dual boot with secure boot and Windows 8 pretty working
I still use Linux only and I’ve secure boot enabled
For the other points, I’ve no docking station, so cannot give you more details
leaving doubts like if it’s an Arch issue, this is a rubbish

While you are entitled to voice your opinions, I thought it was rather rude
i tend to agree that it’s needlessly rude, but besides that i agree that its not really a topic that will lead somewhere. If you want to put in the effort, it’s sure is worth it. If you just want to have it working with secure boot with low effort, other distros probably are better suited. Easiest way would be ditching windows or putting it in a VM of course 😉

See this is what I was looking for. I’m not entitled for an answer from you. But at the least if you think it is a rubbish question, you don’t have to be rude that way.

I’m not rude, I also gave you my opinion you should use something more simpler for you

there must be a reason for having a page called Secure boot in the wiki, it works
leaving doubts like if it’s an Arch issue, this is a rubbish
If the arch wiki has *everything* we need not have forums like this. The point in have peer groups like this is to help those in need and for those who are unable to comprehend all of it in archwiki

then? what’s the point?
Secure Boot works
Your secure boot doesn’t work on your computer

Should I seek something simple – Leave that to me. I sought opinions, not advice.

What are we commenting on, exactly? The fact someone can’t set up Arch and needed to whine about it on Reddit?
the reddit post remains rubbish, not a help request as you missed any detail for your issues

It’s no pride in setting up an OS. Technology should be an aid not a challenge to fuel ones pride
ext4magic /dev/sdXY -R
and
ext4magic /dev/sdXY -f / -R ?
The wiki says that the first one recovers all files deleted in the last 24 hours while the second should be used to recover a directory or file

Distributions have different use-cases. If Arch doesn’t meet your use-case then use a different one. This is fine.
