I was in my 10th grade in 1998. I know I’m going off topic here. What forums existed back then? Terminal based chat clients?
IRC mostly

My systems slow down if I don’t reboot for a while, I’m trying to figure out what causes this.
Don’t make arbitrary changes and see what else is happening on your system. Could be something like a memory leak (in software or a driver).

jonathn 2022-09-11 19:18:36
The NVIDIA driver version is not related to the kernel version
Well I couldn’t even get it working, so it seemed like it was

Hmm, okay I’ll update in a week from now.

XY Problem then. You’re asking about fixing what you think might be the solution, rather than asking about fixing the underlying issue at hand (making the nvidia driver work).
Nomadicccp 2022-09-11 19:22:09
It was throwing an error. Cant check now though, can’t even get into the os without an external keyboard

You might want to check the current kernel version…
Nomadicccp 2022-09-11 19:27:39
5.19.6

Yes

I would if I had one right now..

OK, so you’re after kernel 5.20 (aka 6.0, not 5.2). In which case, check linux-mainline

Yes
How can I do that?
In my case my bios options are greyed out.

See the Secure boot wiki page.
BIOS does not have Secure Boot, so if you have the option, you have UEFI, not BIOS.

Probably much easier than including linux-mainline
