Running bootctl list shows linux-stable as the default and selected boot entry and there seems to be no way changing it?

this is my current partition table
operadicmaniac 2022-09-12 04:08:38
actually i installed arch using the install script that’s not because I don’t know how to install it the normal way cuz I just wanted to do it using the install script, it made the choice of keeping my swap partition 4 gigs but I have 12 gigs of ram, and so i think the rule of thumb is to double the size of the swap partition with regard to how much ram one I have, in this 12 so swap should be 24? right?
operadicmaniac 2022-09-12 04:12:06
one more thing I need somebody to shed some light on is that the install script somehow kept the swap’s filesystem linux not *linux swap/solaris* and it put additional zram0 partition instead, what’s the deal with that?

im sorry the photo doesn’t look right, i wanted to share a btop screenshot showing my swap partion as full

does anyone have any idea how should I go about fixing this (increasing the size of my swap partition)?🙏🏼

Use a swap file and avoid the hassle of resizing partitions

operadicmaniac 2022-09-12 04:29:48
any wiki pages or commands for reference to “swap file”?
operadicmaniac 2022-09-12 04:30:49

There’s a wiki page for swap, you can search for it

It looks like you don’t even have a swap partition. I wouldn’t recommend using one anyway. I agree with Gian and using a swapfile is better than a partition.
https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Swap#Swap_file

ArchWiki has a search function, you should use that before asking here

I’m using systemd-boot as the default boot manager and have 3 Linux kernels along with keytool in the entries.
I used to get these entries every time I booted into my system.

But yesterday, I started trying out some key bindings and the one mentioned as default got flagged as selected. Due to this, the menu doesn’t appear and the entry with (selected) is executed.
Running bootctl list shows linux-stable as the default and selected boot entry and there seems to be no way changing it?

I changed the file name for linux stable kernel loader entry and now it executes hardened kernel by default.
