Does anyone have any idea why Kate automatically puts a pair of brackets with autocompleting?
Looks like AUR will grant an orphan request instantly if the package has been flagged out of date for a while, judging by aur-general, is that what actually happens?
Anyone knows what to do with this?

try it to the dir you want to make changes, but with sudo in front, so it will be sudo chmod 777 /dir/path,

This was solved already – he had to change the directory ownership to his user. chmod 777 is almost never the correct answer.
