Doesn’t gdm have a problem with wayland by default and needs to be configured too?
what does this mean?
so have i got the eDP1 and HDMI variables in the correct spot?
Probably I got some driver error?
Any more information about your setup?
OK, and any more information about your setup?
Have you tried something other than bspwm?

I’m trying to load nvidia_drm through grub but gdm didn’t start at all.

I have the HDMI shown in the xrandr output, but the external display does not show anything

there are many ways, but I do not know which one is right for me.

i heard about this, not sure if true, but i did remember hearing about it

it depends mostly on which boot loader you’re using

I have the HDMI shown in the xrandr output, but the external display does not show anything
in this eDPI is my laptop screen and the HDMI is the external monitor I’m trying to connect

I have the HDMI shown in the xrandr output, but the external display does not show anything
being connected doesn’t mean it’s being used. you need to tell your WM to actually use the output.

Enabling DRM KMS is required.

Ok. I’m using Xorg and i3 is my WM

How do I tell to use it
xrandr

EFI

EFI
what does this mean?

xrandr
so in my case it would be $ xrandr –output eDP1 –auto –output HDMI1 –auto –right-of eDP1

what does this mean?
It mean uefi boot process /boot/grub/x86_64-efi/

so in my case it would be $ xrandr –output eDP1 –auto –output HDMI1 –auto –right-of eDP1
if you want it on your right, yes.

It mean uefi boot process /boot/grub/x86_64-efi/
You’re using grub then

if you want it on your right, yes.

In your case –auto will very likely mean that eDP1 is the primary, so everything is in relation with it

xrandr
there’s an manual of i3 that explains on how to ser multiple monitors

there’s an manual of i3 that explains on how to ser multiple monitors
It explains how to move windows between outputs, and create bindings and configuration for it, but you still use xrandr to actually configure the outputs

You’re using grub then
Yes, and I tried to load as provided here https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/Kernel_parameters#GRUB but get the gdm loading trouble

GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=”loglevel=3 quiet nvidia_drm.modeset=1″
was this correct?

I have this error when sharing screen by teams in arch. the shared screen is completely blurred. Can you help me? I already tried disabling gpu acceleration and nothing.

I just installed teams from aur and when sharing the screen everyone sees it blurry and I get blurry everything too
OK, and any more information about your setup?

Have you tried something other than bspwm?

no
Worth doing to make sure it’s not caused by a niche WM
