Glad that was made clear up front!

So, option one would be to use the browser.

Something weird is happening, I’m backing up a filesystem from an external drive to another external drive with dd, but the destination drive randomly unmounts itself after 10/20/x minutes so of course it stops the process

agreed, since it only opens in the browser, but i would say to have another environment just to make sure

“@echa Thanks, the web app seems to work fine, so it looks like its the desktop app that is the issue.”

I’d love a decent monitor with a good built in camera and I don’t think I’d mind if it was in-display, it’d have to be smaller than this though obviously, like the samsung ones that are just like little hole punch marks

C0rn3j 2022-09-13 00:02:01
Switching to DDR5 at the end of the month so built in ECC to cover for bit flips if it was one, but would love to know what the issue was

If you force feed it some env vars, then sure!

Nah I don’t want to run it, I just want to plug it once to set everything up and then run the server without monitor, just accessing it by ssh

I’ve seen that with bad RAM, bad memory controller on the MoBo, and cheapo ssds

It’ll work. SSH sessions are sessionmanager-independent

Yup, you don’t need GNOME for that.

Hell, you can even uninstall gnome after you’re done configuring things
