And also about those who run from country despite having citizenship here
it doesn’t matter

not everyone can fight, some chose go flee, which is a normal thing
Look here in Vienna… Seems all of them are here.

ig most of those who escaped are in Poland and Austria
lordV 2022-08-04 10:00:57
escaped is a good word.. here in the city you most of the time see 2022 150k$ BMW and Mercedes
lordV 2022-08-04 10:02:24
These are not at all the people I classify under “escaped”.

live means when you don’t shut the vm down

Live Migrating QEMU-KVM Virtual Machines | Red Hat Developer –
Red Hat DeveloperLive migrating virtual machines is an interesting ongoing topic for virtualization: guests keep getting bigger (more vCPUs, more RAM), and demands on the uptime for guests keep getting stricter (no long pauses between a VM migrating from one host to another).

The thing is more that it feels like they are just on holidays

you may think of it whatever you want
lordV 2022-08-04 10:44:35
Escaped somehow implies that you leave something behind. Most of the Ukrainians who are here have only left their principles behind and seem to have been prepared for this for a long time. Apart from the fact that many are certainly of conscript age.
Night_H4nter 2022-08-04 10:44:40
it doesn’t particularly matter
Night_H4nter 2022-08-04 10:46:16
at the very least, unless they go there and demand a crap ton of money as refugees, while not actually being in the situation which they’d need that money in, it shouldn’t bother you
lordV 2022-08-04 10:47:30
No, they are more intelligent. The leader demands tons of money and it reaches them through channels. (not as refugees).

conscription is an idiotic principle, even in the state of war. there’s also a thing called their home, not to mention some people can’t just pack everything in one car to begin with

looks like a bit of a pain
lordV 2022-08-04 10:51:54
I am not a fan of conscription either. But the elite of a country should defend their homeland and not be the first to run. Being part of the elite is a privilege, in my opinion, and every privilege has a price. The bottom line is that war, as well as mostly everything else, is fought on the shoulders of ordinary and sometimes poor people.

we’re talking enterprise, not kindergarten. nobody needs shiny new stuff that is not only not commonly used, but also not particularly easy to work with, just for the sake of new shiny stuff

I didn’t meant to stress the wagies, but if I were to run something i care about I wouldn’t use layers of proprietary shit on top of each other
Night_H4nter 2022-08-04 11:33:47
xen is at least kinda open source, and VMware is one of the most used hypervisors, if not the most used one

what is the point of these symlinks.. ? Compatibility?

or is it a strategy of the package manager?
No, it’s how libs work on Unix
lordV 2022-08-04 16:42:15
Ok thank you, I saw it a few times before but was not sure if its a arch thing

so -> so.6 , so.6 -> so.6.3.1
When packages need a lib with exactly 6.3.1 version, they link .so.6.3.1, if they need just this lib no matter which version, they link to .so, if they need the exact major version of 6 and no matter which minor, .so.6 then
grakata_clem 2022-08-04 16:42:27
My guess
lordV 2022-08-04 16:42:58
This was also my assumption
