can you guys explain to me why people say “gentoo is hard to install”?
literally just extract tarball with attributes chroot, partition, mount, vim fstab, emerge grub done.
what’s so hard about it?

Cool, but tbh I wouldn’t have the need to learn docs etc to use a gui installer, I can just use it right away! but for a cli installer I’d have to!

yea portage 99% of the time solves the dependency issues but on binary distros or less flexible source based ones, the maintainers handle it for you

Yep u still need to use the archwiki to make use of the cli installer, I don’t need to read any docs to use gui installer! Ik cli installers give more power but gui/ tui installers ( like in void, freebsd ) are simple and enough for my use case
