“more stable” 😃
lordV 2022-08-10 15:31:35
some distros have very nice helper..
lordV 2022-08-10 15:31:43
tools, gimmicks ..
grakata_clem 2022-08-10 15:35:17
Which you often can also install in other distros
lordV 2022-08-10 15:36:45
ofc..
grakata_clem 2022-08-10 15:37:36
So they doesn’t make original distro unique
lordV 2022-08-10 15:38:00
no no, i just told.. that some have good helpers
lordV 2022-08-10 15:38:12
but basically for my taste.. too many distros
lordV 2022-08-10 15:38:23
many of them does only differ on small things
grakata_clem 2022-08-10 15:38:26

Yep, like mirrorselect in Manjaro
grakata_clem 2022-08-10 15:38:40
Or was it called manjaro-mirrors?
lordV 2022-08-10 15:38:56
no idea but google show me
lordV 2022-08-10 15:38:57
lordV 2022-08-10 15:40:03
but there are but there are reflector and some other tools on arch
lordV 2022-08-10 15:40:07
just not with a nice gui
lordV 2022-08-10 15:40:57
benchmarking mirrors make sense in less situations.. and its not so trivial if pacman requires a little bit longer

hello everyone, does anyone know if web applications can be developed in artix, they asked me to install these programs: mysql server, workbench, nodejs, composer. Can these programs be installed on artix? Does anyone have experience with these programs?
aldum11 2022-08-10 15:51:55
ofc they can be installed
ChrisCromer 2022-08-10 15:54:30
grakata_clem 2022-08-10 15:28:48
So if Manajro would not use systemd, it wouldn’t be really different from Artix
Wrong, Manjaro modifies their packages to make them easier to use and more user friendly. They also hold back packages and don’t update them right away for “stability” even though it causes major security holes… We are nothing like Manjaro, we aren’t retarded nor noob friendly.

Really? I didn’t notice that something changed when I moved from Manjaro on Artix

You’re a special kind of retard. Why wouldn’t they work on Artix. 🤦🏻♂

They are in repos and can be installed, so read the wiki

Yeah, Manjaro sets up default configs for various packages so you don’t have to do the config yourself… Noob distro.

If this is all what changed, it still isn’t many different
grakata_clem 2022-08-10 15:58:04
Looks like I haven’t noticed that because I just imported my old configs

Versions are much older in Manjaro, they don’t update frquently…
wxlfsangel 2022-08-10 15:59:27
Manjaro was pretty wonky for me
ChrisCromer 2022-08-10 15:59:41
Basically they took a rolling release distro and stopped the rolling. 🤦🏻♂
ChrisCromer 2022-08-10 16:00:03
Which also stopped the security updates…
wxlfsangel 2022-08-10 16:00:10
Scary
wxlfsangel 2022-08-10 16:00:35
Also I read that having old packages from repos and new packages from AUR can lead to breakage
