Any install script for Artix base iso?
Nope.
UnicornBl00d 2022-08-13 00:53:47
ChrisCromer 2022-08-13 00:52:52
It could fuck up your arch. No idea what would happen if you enable artix repos in Arch.
Just don’t update with the repos enabled

He would be installing packages from the artix repos… which could pull deps in from artix repos…

ChrisCromer 2022-08-13 00:55:02

xdMatthewbx 2022-08-13 00:56:03
ok i think it will be simpler to get zfs running on artix iso
ChrisCromer 2022-08-13 00:56:06
I have converted from Arch twice. Once in 2017 when we made Artix. And a second time I converted a Arch WSL into Artix WSL. 😂
xdMatthewbx 2022-08-13 00:56:16
thats unfortunate 🙁
UnicornBl00d 2022-08-13 00:56:32
arch wsl to artix wsl sounds cursed

why zfs btw?
isn’t btrf a more convenable option?

btrfs has issues and also doesnt have everythign zfs has
xdMatthewbx 2022-08-13 00:57:09
zfs is well established and doesnt have issues such as not being able to tell how much free space you have
ChrisCromer 2022-08-13 00:57:12
xdMatthewbx 2022-08-13 00:56:34

Yes, everything is compiled against systemd libs in arch… while init isn’t systemd, everything is using systemd, such as journalctl for logs…
UnicornBl00d 2022-08-13 00:57:14
both have issues and features the other doesn’t

btrfs has more issues than zfs that ive identified by searching

might not be 100% accurate
ChrisCromer 2022-08-13 00:58:07
My Artix WSL has no init at all inside of it… however the Arch WSL has systemd inside it and it can’t be removed because everything will break.
