Ok let me elaborate
I have always had encoders crashing mid transcode. This could only be avoided by forcing single threaded operation.

I have now swapped the cpu from a i7 7700k to a i5 6400. Encoding doesnt crash anymore.

Is this a problem of the CPU itself, or is this somehow an issue of the system being misconfigured to not work with the 7700k?

I kinda need to decide if i buy a new 7700k CPU now

I have followed, and switched to runlevel /etc/runit/runsvdir/enlightened
