Hello, im trying to install artix xfce on an old laptop i have but calamares keeps crashing around the configuring locales part

The laptop has a super old intel atom cpu and about 958mb of ram, i had to edit /etc/calamares/modules/welcome.conf cuz it said i didnt have enough ram

Any way i can send any logs from the installer?

🤦🏻‍♂ the problem is most likely that you don’t have enough RAM… Disabling the warning obviously just makes the installer ignore the real problem…

Do a base install, it uses less RAM during the install process. Calamares and the DE use your RAM leaving none left to do the install.

The thing is that 1gb nowadays just runs a bare metal DE and some gtk and cli programs, nothing else

I have several 1gb ram laptips and they work rly well somehow with mint and debian xfce

Calamares is great but it expects resources to spare indeed

Artix community gtk installer worked on the laptop btw

Probably cuz lxde is more lightweight than xfce
