grakata_clem 2022-09-03 14:20:57

grakata_clem 2022-09-03 14:22:15

qontinuum 2022-09-03 14:22:26
In the bloat way sar
Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:22:58
I already have bspwm and when I go to install i3 it wants a lot of dependancies
Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:23:01
that’s why
Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:23:13
why is urxvt it’s dependancy
Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:23:18
it’s stupid
Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:23:42
i3 is almost thrice the size of bspwm

Sway only needs wlroots, wayland, pcre2, json-c, pango and cairo, and optionally gdk-pixbuf2 for system tray

grakata_clem 2022-09-03 14:26:18
It’s not that much and you probably already have them installed
Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:26:30

ah yep, seems back on life?

it should be complete soon tho because I mean, only 2200 SLOC

SLOC isn’t an actually relevant feature

also I want to wait for wayland to be audited

By who?

Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:27:53
someone I guess
Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:28:07
I also want many more people to use it before jumping
Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:28:12
like you :p
qontinuum 2022-09-03 14:28:37
A lot of people use wayland, I would say most people using linux are using wayland
Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:28:47
there is a kind of successor of bspwm tho called river but that is also WIP

mmm wow

grakata_clem 2022-09-03 14:29:18
Wayland lacks good stacking compositors
qontinuum 2022-09-03 14:29:23
KDE and GNOME are defaulting to wayland for a lot of time now
grakata_clem 2022-09-03 14:29:30
Aside from it, I like it
Rougreh 2022-09-03 14:29:38
stacking compositors are?
