Why are you so mean then? Guy did something impressive, he gained fame and recognition, this is how things work

I’m not mean to the guy, I’m tired of people talking like he is the the be-all and end-all of CS or programming
As for his “fame and recognition”, it wasn’t purely technical, had it not been for his schizophrenia you wouldn’t even know who he is

What he did was technically impressive, but not the sole reason for his fame.
Like I said, people have existed and will continue to exist doing what he did, yet we don’t know most of them.
Terrys OS isn’t the reason he is famous, the guy had a mental illness that colored all of his interactions with other people, and when people found out he also had created an OS, it helped sell the idea that the guy isn’t your average schizo and was actually technically competent
