Your mirror is out of date, change your mirrors.
ChrisCromer 2022-09-20 16:53:58
Specifically it says “community” which is an arch linux repo. So your arch linux mirror is out of date.

Send the uni an email telling them about their out of date mirror.

They would probably ignore it. I once stumbled upon network of some mexican ISP, and almost all of their gateways had the default password. I sent them an email with list of gateways and checked them after a month – half still had the same passwords
grakata_clem 2022-09-20 17:09:24
So I decided to do chaotic good and changed their passwords for them

Unless they are unaware that the mirror is not in sync…

If nobody says anything, they might assume it’s fine.
grakata_clem 2022-09-20 17:10:50
Or they are just lazy fucks
qontinuum 2022-09-20 17:11:57

@grakata_clem Thanks for the efistub suggestion, still had the same problem, initramfs couldn’t find the internal storage
lanciagreggori 2022-09-20 18:20:14
But now the screen wouldn’t even come back up
lanciagreggori 2022-09-20 18:20:31
meaning it’s somehow worse than the GRUB approach
grakata_clem 2022-09-20 18:20:56
Unlucky
