fr*nch packaging

For some reason I have to specify the binary dir to /usr/bin while arch doesn’t need to and I never debugged this
When I iport the package I always forget to add the configuration 🙁

Fixed this, did a restart 🙂

runit? There’s a note in the installation wiki about having to restart before the post installation config.

Desktop Linux Hardeningprivsec.dev
Linux is not a secure operating system. However, there are steps you can take to harden it, reduce its attack surface and improve its privacy.
Before We Start…
This guide is largely based on Madaidan’s Linux hardening guide; however, it does take into account usability and ease of maintenance of each recommendation. The goal is to produce a guide that intermediate to advanced Linux users can reasonably follow to set up and maintain the security configurations.

i think they only did
step 1. search “linux” on telegram
step 2. join all
step 3. spam
step 4. delete account

If one has /boot encrypted, is Secure Boot of any use?

Encryption and signing are not the same thing.

qontinuum 2022-09-21 23:56:26
It depends if you use AEAD
ChrisCromer 2022-09-21 23:57:23
On a technical level, yes the same, on a usage level, it’s different.
ChrisCromer 2022-09-21 23:58:22
Encryption/decryption requires private key. Checking a signature just requires the public one.
ChrisCromer 2022-09-21 23:59:35
And even if boot is encrypted, doesn’t mean its contents are not compromised if they are not signed.
