Question: Has anyone had a USB3 to HDMI adapter with a VID:PID of 534d:6021 and a description of “MacroSilicon VGA Display Adapter”? If so… you guys know which driver this thing is using?

I have done some digging and there seems to be very little support if any for that particular converter

Thanks for looking into this… has there been anything on github or any other place that I can try and compile and try? Not really that important it was a cheap USB3 (sold like that but it is detected by Debian as USB2.0) to HDMI adapter… Just out of curiosity… it doesn’t seem to have a Fresco Logic chipset does it?

I seen one for arch but didn’t read much on it since you were obviously on Debian lol

Hello everyone,

hope you are all doing fine 😊. I was wondering if you may help me.

I’m about to reinstall a old Debian machine and was wondering how far we are with Bookworm … will it be released this year as stable? What is the planning more or less …

I plan on running it on a touchscreen machine for my Scrumboard and having here and there presentations and or videos running on it …

Looking forward to your answers.

Thanks to YOU.

Thank You @gnutechie bye the way where would I find this information on the net? In the case I’m looking for this kind of information next time? 😉 Thank YOU

There was a call for testing RC bugs from the Debian release team if I remember correctly… but a quick duckduckgo search with terms Debian Bookwork Freeze brought up the Debian Release Team’s Freeze schedule which you can find here: https://release.debian.org/testing/freeze_policy.html

Hope this was helpful 🙂

Hello everyone
I’m making my distro based on Debian
Currently, I’m using the live builder to build the installer(the installer is on live mode)
But I don’t understand how can I include my binary files and add packages to the bootstrap package list in the debian installer
Can someone please explain this to me?

KDE/Plasma 5.24 for Debian | There and back againThere and back again
Yesterday, KDE released version 5.24 of the Plasma desktop with the usual long list of updates and improvements. This release will be considered a LTS release. And Plasma 5.24 is now available for all Debian releases. (And don’t forget KDE Gears/Apps 21.12!) As usual, I am providing packages via my…

im trying to install latest version of kde using this method
2022-07-19 11:18:55
but im a bit confused,

add a file /etc/apt/sources.list.d/obs-npreining-kde.list
, containing the following lines, replacing the DISTRIBUTION
part with one of Debian_11
(for Bullseye), Debian_Testing
, or Debian_Unstable
:
deb https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/npreining:/debian-kde:/other-deps/DISTRIBUTION/ ./
deb https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/npreining:/debian-kde:/frameworks/DISTRIBUTION/ ./
deb https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/npreining:/debian-kde:/plasma524/DISTRIBUTION/ ./
deb https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/npreining:/debian-kde:/apps2112/DISTRIBUTION/ ./
deb https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/np

2022-07-19 11:19:41
should i replace this like

deb https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/npreining:/debian-kde:/other-deps/DISTRIBUTION/ ./

to

deb https://download.opensuse.org/repositories/home:/npreining:/debian-kde:/other-deps/Debian_Testing/ ./
