I assume you downloaded and installed firmware-realtek from the non-free section of the main Debian repo and still had no results?

yes

gnutechie 2022-08-08 09:39:41
that’s strange. So Network Manager does not pick up anything?
gnutechie 2022-08-08 09:40:11
Did you use the official or unofficial ISO?
MrDeplorableUSA 2022-08-08 11:12:29
I had to connect all of my laptops with a ethernet cable, install isenkram package and run it as well

And what hardware are you running Debian on?
2022-08-08 12:09:32
Intel i5 9th gen
2022-08-08 12:09:47
8gb ram
Nvidia gt 730

Which DE? Which ISO are you using?

The one from debian website

gnutechie 2022-08-08 12:10:40
There are many from Debian Website. Which one? Can you paste the name of the file?

Wait

https://www.debian.org/CD/live/ torrent, i guess. Downloaded this few months back
gnutechie 2022-08-08 12:16:29
Try this one:
https://cdimage.debian.org/images/unofficial/non-free/images-including-firmware/11.4.0-live+nonfree/amd64/bt-hybrid/debian-live-11.4.0-amd64-kde+nonfree.iso.torrent

Since you want to work with KDE… this is the right ISO for it. All firmware andneeded drivers should be on this. Check it out

MrDeplorableUSA 2022-08-08 12:45:34
Even with the non-free firmware ISO I still had to use Ethernet and install Isenkram package on all of my laptops to get wireless working, I believe even the AMD chipset HP(I’d have to double check it).

Can you recomend debian or debian based distro that has latest packages (like kde, and other important ones) but that doesnt break the system like majaro or arch does. But it needs to be rolling too, i dont wanna reinstall after every 6 months. I really dont wanna use any os other than debian, got used to it. But old packages are anoying, even backports have old ones, thats sad

debian testing if you are “brave”
It’s the rolling release basically.

Testing is far from rolling. The closest version of Debian to a rolling format is probaby sid/experimental.

chaudharyjatin115 2022-08-08 20:07:05
That’s what I use its stable af

Well, it has updates every single day. I mean. Why would you need more?

hyunlee1o 2022-08-08 20:15:38
If you need something just download the .deb from github as i do sometimes

I didn’t write my previous message because I’m unsatisfied with Testing, which I think it’s probably the best version of Debian for desktop usage, but I just wanted to point out that Testing isn’t a rolling release.
