It lets you pick the desktop environment at the end of the installer but imo it’s much better to leave everything unchecked and install whichever software you want at the end.

arjunamat100 2022-08-08 22:24:12
But for you, checking KDE at the end will make everything much easier.

Btw why does debian wiki, debian website, and mainly the download page looks so old and hard to navigate.

Chances are that your Wi-Fi card might not work during the installer so you’ll have to keep an empty usb drive by your side and place the required additional Wi-Fi driver there.

Can you recomend debian or debian based distro that has latest packages (like kde, and other important ones) but that doesnt break the system like majaro or arch does. But it needs to be rolling too, i dont wanna reinstall after every 6 months. I really dont wanna use any os other than debian, got used to it. But old packages are anoying, even backports have old ones, thats sad

Unless you have requirements you can’t live with old or new packages doesn’t really matter… what matters is to know that what you put on the system is not gonna crash it. Of course if you want the latest and greatest and can’t live anywhere else other than the bleeding edge.. then sid is for you but be warned it’s not what people usually call “user friendly” If you want something else in terms of distros that are Debian based… well you need to look for one that doesn’t adhere to Debian’s release cycles and therefore veers off from what Debian does… there are a few but to be honest… you need to put hand on keyboard and look for it.

Got a security warning, for got to take screenshit, had no other choice so clicked continue
2022-08-09 10:11:04
It was about something about sensitive data, encryption, and said that it cant be implemented untill the vulnerability is fixed
gnutechie 2022-08-09 10:12:45
Did you try encrypting your partitions?

No

gnutechie 2022-08-09 10:17:01
If you did not select to encrypt your partitions it’s just a generic warning and you’re good to go.
2022-08-09 10:17:19
Okk.. its about to be finished
