You probably created a separate root account instead of giving your primary user administration privilege.

How can i fix it
arjunamat100 2022-08-09 10:38:29
Try su- password to access root: a # sign should be visible near the root name in the console.
arjunamat100 2022-08-09 10:38:56
password is the root password: you surely put one since the installer asks you for it.

no, not encryption. just a promt that asks for password while you try to open other partitions after a reboot

I don’t know what that means. Changing file permissions is the first thing popping into my mind but I don’t know.

Testing always has different defaults than stable

By the first impressions, debian testing is exactly something that i wanted, but i can be sure only after using it for some more time, so far so good

Budgie doesn’t support Wayland, only GNOME and Plasma do.

gnutechie 2022-08-10 11:12:25
Well they only recently decided to go on their own direction so at least the versions on Debian Stable and Debian testing (not sure about sid) should be dependent on GNOME3 libs and utils. So theoretically it wouldn’t be a stretch to check the session files that GDM reads and check what is being called at login time to create a wayland session… theoretically always.

Budgie being dependent on GNOME doesn’t make it automatically support all the GNOME features.
