I don’t think so, why?
Because i am a member of the nosystemD movement… i saw deepin is becoming independent and i would like to use it if there is a systemD free version
There will be major packaging distribution changes, I think that’s the main reason why they are saying it will stop being a debian distribution
Not a fan of the ways Deepin is getting into, Linglong is just waste of time and making the distro even more separated from the global Linux community, this will increase it’s popularity locally in China but decrease it from the globe.
In order for Deepin to be globally successful, they need to:
1) Focus on fixing bugs
2) Making the animations less glitchy and more fluent
3) Focus on improving the UX
4) Implementing Flatpaks as they are way better than snaps for example in terms of UI and they are more responsive
5) Being more transparent about Deepin and all servers, backdoors should be known to the public, It took months for them to give an official statement regarding the analytics tool they used in their App Store
I really love Deepin and I used it for a solid 2 years in the past as my main OS, but they keep making some bad decisions here and there.

The question is in my opinion linglong its better

and in the future the deepin community in Spanish will create a linglong repository for the Western world, while there are already distros interested in its implementation for alén do arch base debian and rpm
Totally agree, it is more of a preference

Hi👋

U just described tons of software nowadays
Nope!
I am describing init systems… have you tried runit ? It is the opposite… and if i add 66suite it can be even better than systemD
Yes, nitrux is heavy when I see

But i like dinit
first remove fcitx: “sudo apt remove fcitx” and reboot . next “sudo apt install fcitx5” and you can choose your language

1. An official response to quidsup video took 3 months which I wouldn’t say is a long time, providing the video wasn’t very popular and it took time for deepin team to even realize such thing existed.
2. Deepin developers are not stupid. They wouldn’t jump right into creating linglong if there was no reason behind it. Flatpak has made a couple of design flaws which cannot be fixed, primarly(but not limited to) huge space consumption. I have currently 8 small apps installed via flatpak and my /var/lib/flatpak weighs 12gb which is unacceptable. Apps itself weigh maybe 300mb

Everything expressed is because of the total lack of knowledge of the reasons and problematic that lead Deepin to take this decision
