huhu sorry sir, I’m glad you came here 😛
No you’re not because unless they use fedora i dont waste my time on helping.
Wolfshappen 2022-07-12 16:36:18
And what applies to fedora applies to literally 3 distros that are on an equally recent level.

Not only is that the worst way to help from you – its blatantly wrong if they dont happen to be on arch (manual pipewire), nix (manual config) or fedora (default).
I use Debian, btw.
I’ve read the guide, so I will try it. Too bad I have to reboot system every time to check it 😊
By default I have all analog sound outputs and inputs mixed into a single group, but I want to quickly switch between them and also redirect apps’ sound.

Linux is the software that communicates with your computer’s hardware and GNU is the method that we all have to communicate with Linux, that is, with the Linux Kernel
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:09:02
correct?

Linux is the software that communicates with your computer’s hardware and GNU is the method that we all have to communicate with Linux, that is, with the Linux Kernel
Linux communicates with hardware, handless processes and threads, manages memory, does a bunch of stuff.
GNU is a project which provides a set of utilities (libraries and programs) the linux kernel can execute
DumbMahreeo 2022-07-12 17:11:14
You can also avoid GNU altogether for example using
Linux/MUSL busybox

igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:09:02
correct?
No – GNU is optional.
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:11:40
ok
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:11:42
got it
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:12:04
and the difference between unix and linux

If you have it available do give pipewire a spin but since you’re not on fedora i will reserve my time from further help. ^^
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:13:07
linux is based in unix
DumbMahreeo 2022-07-12 17:13:19
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:12:04
and the difference between unix and linux
Unix was a family of systems, but when we talk about Unix we mostly refer to Unix SystemV maintained by AT&T.
There are many systems that mimic Unix architecture such as Linux and the numerous BSD systems.
Linux is NOT based on Unix, they are different systems, Linux only mimics Unix
QWTFN 2022-07-12 17:13:21
That’s right.
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:13:53
ahhh
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:13:54
got it
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:13:57
thanks
DumbMahreeo 2022-07-12 17:14:58
@igorbatista495 there are also specifications you can follow for your system such as the SUS (Single Unix Specification) and the POSIX (Portable Operating System Interface)
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:17:43
ok
igorbatista495 2022-07-12 17:17:48
thanks for clearing my doubts
DumbMahreeo 2022-07-12 17:18:06
No problem
