encryption is generally hard to understand for most of the people.

as for rsa the basic idea is not that hard to grasp, but then you have the real world implementations and fixes and stuff which quite make it complicated

some encryption techniques are easy to decode and some are extremely hard ie 256bit AES

I have a public key you are aware of it via centralized key server. I send you an encrypted email you can decrypt it because you trust the pki server.
