There is no weight difference, the desktop environment is the only thing that differs them. If Zorin still uses old gnome 2 then it’s probably lighter.
I’d also discourage the use of Zorin, if you want an Ubuntu based that looks different try the various Ubuntu spins, Mint or ElementaryOS
DumbMahreeo 2022-07-25 23:23:42
One thing is for sure, if you lag with Ubuntu, you might lag just as well with Zorin
EDIT: didn’t see we were talking about lite edition, please read further, I still discourage the use of Zorin

Oh fuck, they were talking about lite
DumbMahreeo 2022-07-25 23:24:11
Wait, they have a lite xfce edition now?
Fuseteam 2022-07-25 23:24:18
yes, why would you discourage zorin os?

Old lite was the nerfed version of ZorinOS

Doesn’t make sense, they don’t really develop an os, they just theme a couple of things and ask for money
Fuseteam 2022-07-25 23:25:09
fair enough i suppose 🤔
DumbMahreeo 2022-07-25 23:25:45
At least Mint develops Cinnamon and ElementaryOS puts effort in creating a whole unified platform
Fuseteam 2022-07-25 23:26:08
tho they ask for money for their ultimate, everything and the kitchen sink installed, edition xd
Fuseteam 2022-07-25 23:26:15
the rest is free :3

Grub works on efi systems
Hey and @ryder, I was sleeping. Well, it didn t boot because it was a x32 version of a boot repair. I ve downloaded x64 version and put it on USB with UnetBootIN and it is booting. Suprisingly. Same physical USB. Dunno why, but that is.
This is the tool:
https://sourceforge.net/projects/boot-repair/
I don t know whether the download is the same, but there is an option to choose from x32 and x64.
So I have many tools in it, but all in all it requires internet connections for all to be perfect, and I dunno why, but that internet connection HP wifi inbuilt adapter in laptop is not working.
I did the uninstall of the OS and the OS was Linux Mint – but the boot didn t want to show me that option and I don t know the reasons.
The other tools are some, it is like boot repair OS based on minimalistic lubuntu. It has gparted, so I ll do now according to @ryder instructions.
boot-repair –
SourceForgeDownload boot-repair for free. A simple tool to repair frequent boot issues. See https://sourceforge.net/p/boot-repair/home

Tether your phone to the laptop

I did use the method of gparted, erased all and after all created new partition table, and plugged in Windows to install, same mistake.
Maybe is because I have administrator and power-on password set in BIOS?
