But boot menu has become the default when opening my laptop from restart, suspend or shut down.
I would like for the loading of my OS to be the default.

But the battery is not charging now. It did work once after I fully discharged the laptop while working on the previous issue. But after that it just stopped charging.

What’s your brand/model of notebook?
Usually it’s internal battery protection chips who do this bullshit. Might try connecting a lab power supply to the power pins directly, might unlock the battery pack.

Appreciate your help mahn.👍
Unplug your battery (if that is possible), press and hold the power up button for 10 seconds, put the battery back inside, put a charger in, try booting up. Tell results.
I wouldn’t rule out a possibility of a dead/locked battery. Otherwise bug a notebook manufacturer for a driver update.
