Debian is slow?

cuz I wanted for it to automatically update, bcuz I have a few x apps I’d like having, and I’m lazy to add them in manually to be fair lol

in deb it defaults to list of installed stuff, somehow

if id install chromium or crap it would list it

u mean u have other non package manager apps ?

in my experience, it’s way more sluggish and I’m unsure of why

I install the same packages on both Arch and Debian, and Arch boots faster, is more responsive, and doesn’t lag as much

in my experience, there wasnt a distro as fast debian

maybe it’s the way they package it

it really depends on what services etc you enable

debian automatically does it

booting wise, yes

it even has a apt update service

imagine whatever package you install has a service, it will be enabled automatically

I think dnf does that too

and Fedora boots slower, and so is the package manager

but it’s significantly more responsive

yes true, fedora has selinux, secure boot etc by default so thats expected

and it’s more responsive

Debian with Liquorix < Arch with mainline, in terms of speed

ok i think i know what it is
fedora and arch linux uses very recent kernels, but debian uses old lts

i dont use debian 11, i use 12+

I usually use Debian Testing
