That would mean my computer needs update and my certificate store is old

You don’t need to do that unless root ca gets hacked. And that would be fucked

When you update linux you also update your ca-certificates. You mustn’t have much experience with troubleshooting browsers and ssl

Do you know about intermediate cas?

cryptodanvr 2022-08-07 05:03:34
That’s updated with ca-certificates provided by your distro / os
Fibonakki 2022-08-07 05:05:44
Only time your os would need to update i think is if the root ca got hacked. And idk if that’s a frequent occasion or not
Fibonakki 2022-08-07 05:06:10
Then you absolutely would need to update your apt packages and browsers
cryptodanvr 2022-08-07 05:08:19
No it updates to get new ca certs in /etc/ssl

Pretty interesting article. I don’t want to argue @cryptodanvr

Browser vendors rushed to revoke trust in DigiNotar certificates, but removing a root CA was not entirely straightforward. “We actually needed to push out an update to Firefox because the CA information was hard-coded to the browser,” Firefox security lead Richard Barnes said.

Fibonakki 2022-08-07 05:17:14
Does this make sense?
cryptodanvr 2022-08-07 05:19:19
Because firefox sucks in that it doesn’t use /etc/ssl
cryptodanvr 2022-08-07 05:21:11
Even on windows it doesn’t use the windows certificate store

Didn’t Debian run into problems because of this?

Any browsers that didn’t use /etc/ssl or windows certificate store had issues

cryptodanvr 2022-08-07 06:23:24
Chrome and it’s variants use /etc/ssl and windows certificate store

dbus, xorg, mutter, gdm, choose your terminal

Alacritty has weird white borders on wayland session because of window decorations on gnome
There is a workaround for that to fix that

Well when you install mutter its just blue screen with just gnome-extensions package at least on Arch,
void includes gnome-control-center (settings) as a dependency
And icon browser xdd

Wayland
Btw no power-profiles-daemon package on void
It requires systemd to work
I tested on a VM without gpu passthrough
So I can’t say if there are any stutters like gnome

Hi
I have a question but I couldn’t find the answer in google.
How we can find out if all the required packages are installed in ubuntu or not?
Like when in I install unubtu for the first time yesterday, I use sudo apt update and also sudo apt upgrade to install packages but I think still some packages hadn’t installed yet.

How do I fix this

interface tun-easytether is used by another process (hotplug )

In this post I’ll exploit CVE-2022-22057, a use-after-free in the Qualcomm gpu kernel driver, to gain root and disable SELinux from the untrusted app sandbox on a Samsung Z flip 3. I’ll look at various mitigations that are implemented on modern Android devices and how they affect the exploit.

gdm pulls a lot more deps than, mutter or gnome-session
