The MOK enrollment?

As i was searching what mok enrollment means i realized this was the error i was getting before. I had to disable secure boot

ryder_099 2022-08-10 18:18:09
Or you could just enroll the MOK Ubuntu gives you, and keep Secure Boot.

Yeah you could keep Secure Boot and use Ubuntu with two keystrokes. πŸ˜‚

ryder_099 2022-08-10 18:19:23
After Ubuntu installation you get into the mok manager, you enroll mok and reboot. Done

This is why ppl, don’t suggest others to ignore certs or disable secure boot. I definitely read that suggestion on stackoverflow

To anyone who hasn’t used MokManager before, your system booting into an oldschool keyboard-input-only environment can be intimidating.

I did a dual boot install 2 months ago. On a newer laptop. But i never faced this enrollment issues. So probably/hopefully it is automatically doing that for the user? I’m mentioning newer cuz i think that means it’s uefi by default?

This isn’t an issue. The installer literally tells you about it. It’s standard procedure.

ryder_099 2022-08-10 18:27:08
The enrollment is only necessary if you install third party kernel modules and choose to set up Secure Boot. If you don’t tick that box during installation, you don’t get rebooted to MokManager.

Hmm now i wonder what happened at the time. Could it be that i downloaded ubuntu from the wrong place? Not the official image somehow

Some keys on my laptops keyboard stopped working suddenly, but with an external keyboard it works

Do I need to replace the internal keyboard with a new one?
