I got my PC back in 2014 when I was still unaware of how easy it was to use Linux and unaware that novideo is evil.
I won’t make that mistake again.

Which Linux distribution do you use? I use fedora KDE

OpenWrt

It’s a Linux distribution for routers.

Oh nice! What is it based on?

ryder_099 2022-08-11 11:56:24
I don’t think it’s based on anything… LEDE/OpenWrt are independent as far as I know.

Oh ok, as fedora or Solus or arch

(I should mention, LEDE was a project that split away from OpenWrt then merged back a couple years later. Now there’s only OpenWrt.)

ryder_099 2022-08-11 12:00:47
Indeed, and OpenWrt is pretty awesome.
ryder_099 2022-08-11 12:03:31
On my laptop there’s a small Fedora Workstation install currently, which I don’t use, and there’s Ubuntu in WSL2 which I use for some stuff occasionally.
ryder_099 2022-08-11 12:04:04
The Linux partition on my laptop is currently around 16 GB so there isn’t much I can actually do with it. XD
ryder_099 2022-08-11 12:04:32
It’s just there so that the partitions in Windows have neat sizes.

Why? It’s a standard sh terminal.

For two years I’m forced to use Windows 11, I haven’t used Windows for almost 2 years because I passed to Linux. I learnt using Linux with arch and in the end I chose to stay with fedora for its security and stability

ryder_099 2022-08-11 12:18:52
I switched to Windows some three years back and it has been my primary OS ever since.

ryder_099 2022-08-11 12:21:58
I don’t really use Linux on my laptop. There is currently one Fedora install on a small partition on the same drive, but I keep erasing or switching the distro. There’s Ubuntu in WSL2, which is Microsoft’s current Linux-on-Windows solution.

The only machines I have running exclusively Linux are my routers.
